Virginia has won its first Big East Tournament in six years, beating No. 9 Syracuse on Saturday for its first conference title in 20 years.
The Hokies (5-0, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) improved to 7-0 at home after defeating No. 3 Louisville on Saturday.
The win capped a three-game winning streak for Virginia.
It was the first time Virginia beat No. 1 Syracuse since 1993.
It was the seventh straight ACC title game for Virginia and first since 1997.
The Hokies will host Duke next weekend.
The Blue Devils (6-0) lost to No. 5 Miami on Saturday and host Miami in a rematch of last year’s ACC Championship game.
The ACC Tournament is an annual showcase for the conference’s best programs.
The tournament features seven teams from each conference that play each other every year.
