The LSU Tigers are hosting the Baylor Bears on January 8 in the College Football Championship in Arlington, Texas, the first-ever college football bowl game to be played in the United States.
The game is the second of three on a Monday, and the third game of the week, in what is set to be a very busy week in college football.
The SEC Championship is scheduled to be held on January 10 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, while the ACC Championship will be played on January 12 in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is the first time that the ACC has played a bowl game in the country since the 2009 Sugar Bowl.
The Big 12 Championship is set for January 14 in Dallas, Texas.
The Tigers will travel to Dallas, which hosted the College World Series, to face the defending national champion Kansas Jayhawks.
The game will be televised nationally by ESPN2.
The Tigers have not lost in Arlington since 2011.
The Bears, who are currently ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press poll and No. 8 in CBSSports.com’s weekly rankings, will be without their top two quarterbacks in Jordan Lynch and Austin Allen.
In addition, linebacker Mike Neal is out with a knee injury, while receiver Dwayne Bowe and cornerback Dontae Johnson are also out with injuries.
